Last September, the KRAFT FESTIVAL, the favorite annual beer event for many of you (and why deny, many of us) was finally able to happen again. KRAFT 2021 was a success not only for the guests, but also for the breweries and the organizers, and we are excited to gather again at the end of May this year for the regular annual inspection of kraft beers!

“KRAFT has always been at the bottom of our hearts. A beer festival featuring regional names where Hungarian kraft breweries are in the spotlight. It’s not an unlimited and grandiose all you can drink festival (perhaps we’re better known for that), but a token-bases, pay per drink, casual event for not only the beer geeks but every beer fan (even the ones who just start their journey with special beers). Needles to say, we’ll have concerts in the background, we also invited food trucks and selectors-djs, but basically, we wanted an all-round, close-knit, safe, outdoor festival with all the good vibes.”

The Budapest Beer Week team evokes the unparalleled, liberating atmosphere of international beer festivals with this event, as brewers will personally tap their beers, so you can have a nice talk between barrel-aged imperial stouts and fruity berliner weisses. Of course, there will also be classic lagers and ales for lovers of more traditional flavors, to make sure everyone finds their happiness at the end of the day.

🍺 We use tokens, and or our own festival glasses during the Kraft festival

🍺 Tokens / festival glasses can be purchased not only with cash, but of course with a credit-debit card on the spot, but for the beers you can only pay with tokens of course, or online in advance

🍺 Multiple token points are placed to avoid the possibility of long queues

🍺 Exhibitors only tap beer at the stands in the official KRAFT 2022 logo glassware purchased by the guests on the spot, or brought from home during the previous KRAFT or BPBW events

🍺 Token redemption is not available this year either, however, bring your tokens purchased during the previous years, you will be able to pay with them in the same way, and we will soon publish a list of venues who will also accept your remaining tokens at any time during the year when buying beers

🍺 Beer can be tapped into a glass in the quantity only which the glass is calibrated for (with a calibration mark)

🍺 The price of one token is HUF 300

🍺 The 2022 KRAFT glassware can be purchased at the list price of 2000 HUF at the token points, but we recommend the following constructions instead:

• 10 tokens + KRAFT 2022 glassware package 4500 HUF (you pay 1500 HUF for the glass in this package)
• 20 tokens + KRAFT 2022 glassware package 7000 HUF (you pay 1000 HUF for the glass in this package)
• 40 tokens + KRAFT 2022 glassware package 12500 HUF (you pay 500 HUF for the glass in this package)
• 60 tokens + KRAFT 2022 glassware package 18000 HUF (you get the glass for free in this package)

SINGLE – one-session ticket for friday

  TASTING SESSION / FRIDAY 9^th SEPTEMBER 2022

A 6 hours long tasting session (from 2pm to 8pm) with unlimited beer tasting included in the ticket price on the 9^th September 2022.

The concept for both the Friday and Saturday tasting sessions is 2 (+2) taps for all breweries, and 1 keg of each beer per session. Once a keg is done, the beer is gone for that session. Breweries are allowed to do a beer change at halftime of the session (so at 5pm).

This means you can taste up to 4 beers from a brewery per session, and we will have a completely different beer list both on Friday and Saturday.

 A UNIQUE VINTAGE TASTING GLASS

Once you check in at the festival, you will get a unique tasting glass with the annual BPBW logo on it. The tasting quantity is 1dl for each beer (0.5dl for the more exclusive / strong ones) to make sure that you can taste as many beers as possible. Needless to say, but feel free to ask for 0.5dl only from any type of beer to try most of them and survive the long sessions.

If you lose or break your tasting glass you can buy another one at our official merch desk for 1.500 HUF.

  AFTERPARTY / FRIDAY 9^th SEPTEMBER 2022

The core events will be followed by huge afterparties including the wildest bands and performers from Hungary’s diverse music scene.

Pure rock’n’roll, live shows, DJs and local craft beer from 8pm at the same location as the tasting sessions – Dürer Kert, one of the best live music venues in Budapest, located on the Buda side right next to the shore of the river Danube.

  ENCORE SESSION / SUNDAY 11^th SEPTEMBER 2022

On Sunday the 11^th September 2022 an Encore session will take place at Dürer Kert, the same location of the tasting sessions. Guests can purchase their Encore tickets at the doors, but in case you already have any type of tasting session ticket you are entitled to enter the Sunday Encore session for free.

Please mind that the Encore session is not an all you can taste event, you must purchase tokens to drink some beers. Here we can neither guarantee personal representation from all breweries, nor that all beers from the Friday-Saturday tasting sessions will be available.

  GO FULL CRAFT ALL WEEK LONG

We kindly invite you to spend the whole week and enjoy the flow with us and our guests in person, particularly during our main events from the 9th Friday to the 11^th Sunday. Needless to say though, it would be great to have you here for the whole week (from 5^th to 11^th), as Budapest has a lot to discover beyond its beer scene. We will do our best to make you feel like you are home away from home.

During the week between 5^th and 11^th September we will have exclusive tap-takeovers and meet the brewer events with impressive tap lists at the best craft beer bars in Budapest. In addition we’re going to guide you what to do and where to go in Budapest during weekdays too.
