Poppels Bryggeri

Sweden is one of the heaviest players in the whole European craft scene and Poppels is raising the flags of Scandinavia high as one of the pioneers in their country. Established in 2012 they have been growing rapidly thanks to their organic badge and solid American inspired lineup which is available nationwide in Sweden – and beyond its borders as well. They are often referred as the gateway beer to the craft scene and true that they have the biggest follower base in the Swedish social media; apparently their so-called beer heroes have helped them to grow so fast that they have become the second biggest craft brewery in Sweden by now. ✌

Obviously this couldn’t have been reached without the solid foundation and dedication to consistency but time by time they prove that there is more in them beyond their comfort zone. They pulled massive collaborations with brewers like JWB, Lervig, All In Brewing, Dry and Bitter, the mighty Omnipollo or even doom metal band Monolord, embracing a wide range of styles from super tart kettle sours to barrel aged liquid black damnation imperial stouts.

Fun fact is that one of our main founders, Tibor spent the past one and a half years with them as a brewer so Budapest Beer Week was partially organised from within their walls and from the charming city of Gothenburg. ?
