We are welcoming further Norse Gods ??? previously being hidden gems to us ??? who’s name has been referred to us by many great brewers recently. Since then we met them not only their amazing beers, but also them by person and we’ve been on the same page from the start (well it wasn’t rocket science to figure out since their Beau and our Tibor have the same birthday)… All this made us sure that we want them in Budapest next year!
Now where have we been?
Oh yeah… With them we are hitting a new record again: unless we’ll find a brewery from the Arctic Circle, they’ll easily gonna be the most Northern guests we’ve ever had. ??????
For those who didn’t know, heaven is just a bit West to Hell. The city of fjords, Trondheim is astonishingly beautiful and the three founders who built this brewery from old dairy equipment and with the help of three dames – two moms and one aunt – sure knew where to start a business. But the three ladies were not the only women who played a big role in their story: their Northie Brown Ale’s original recipe was actually written by the head brewer’s grandmother. ? Be them beer witches or not (it is not on us to decide) but there must be something even more otherwordly beyond them Kveik yeasts.
They quickly marked their name on the Norwegian scene, and since their opening they attended a lot of beer festivals, grew both on the local and export markets and the success finally led them to open their new and modern facility this year just outside of Trondheim with space for barrel aging, a laboratory and also a superb taproom.
So here we are embracing another team from the North, our friends from Austmann Bryggeri & Taproom will also join us at BPBW 2019 | Budapest Beer Week /// Tasting Sessions!!! ?
